What this site covers
DeWerkplek.com is an independent Dutch resource explaining workplace health, safety, ergonomics, mental wellbeing and the impact of AI on Dutch workplaces. It is aimed at employees, works councils (OR), HR, prevention officers (preventiemedewerker) and employers operating under Dutch labour law.
Why it's Dutch-only for now
Most of the content explains specific Dutch legislation — the Arbowet (Working Conditions Act), the RI&E (risk inventory), the role of the bedrijfsarts (occupational physician) and rulings of the Nederlandse Arbeidsinspectie (Dutch Labour Inspectorate). Translating it into generic English would lose the legal precision that makes it useful. We'd rather be accurate in one language than vague in three.
If you don't read Dutch
- Browser translation works well — modern browsers and language models translate the Dutch articles accurately. Just open the homepage and translate in-page.
- For workplace law, the official English-language source is english.arboportaal.nl (Dutch Ministry of Social Affairs).
- For inspections, accidents and notifications, the Dutch Labour Inspectorate publishes English information at nlarbeidsinspectie.nl/topics.
- For occupational health professionals, see the registers we list on our experts page (Dutch). Most registers have English search interfaces.
